  Teacher Unions Issue Urgent Notice Over Unpaid Promotion Arrears and Outstanding Agreements Story Accra, September 23, 2026 — The three major teacher unions have issued an urgent notice to teachers over concerns regarding the implementation of the 2025 promotion placements and the payment of related arrears. In a notice dated Tuesday, September 22, 2026 , the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and Pre-Tertiary Education Teachers’ Association of Ghana (PRETAG) said they had become concerned that the 2025 promotion placements, together with the payment of arrears, had not been fully implemented.
